Every region fights back a little harder

This update came straight from playtest feedback. One of our testers told us the boss of the second region went down far too quickly. When we looked into it, the reason was simple: every region’s boss was built exactly the same, so the second region had nothing new to throw at you.

The first region was also the only place with blight nests, the rooted pods that keep releasing small, quick mites while a pine is nearby. Now every region after the first has nests of its own, so the walk between objectives has more going on. The first region stays as it was, smaller and gentler, a place to learn the game.

Each region’s boss is now a little sturdier than the one before, so the journey should feel like a climb. Before we shipped, we ran thousands of simulated expeditions with parties of every size, to make sure the bosses stay beatable for a party of two as well as a full group. Simulated players are worse at the game than people are, though, so we’re counting on you to tell us whether it feels right.

Two smaller fixes: the capybara companion and the Trail Sentry now carry their own labels on the board instead of borrowing another pine’s, and on the capybara’s turn you only see the actions he can actually take.
